If you are looking for sea, sand and sports, then consider the Jumeirah Beach area south of the city. Most of the hotels are five star luxury resorts with their own private beaches but you can still find some bargains. Notable hotels include the landmark "seven star" Burj Al Arab, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Madinat Jumeirah modelled after an Arabian town straight out of Alladin.
The new Palm Islands being built off the coastline will add a further 60 resort hotels to this district with around 25,000 additional rooms which equates to about one million extra visitors per year.
You are perfectly located for the beaches and the Arabian Sea, Wild Wadi Water Park and Mall of the Emirates. It is about a 20 minute taxi ride to the older parts of Dubai City and the historical attractions and around 30 minutes from the airport.
